The Prodigal Yellow Lab

Fri Jan 18 2019

Behold, the yellow Lab, whose golden fur glows with the glory of the stars!

Lost I once was, but the old prophecy hit me in the whisper of the night. Before me she stood -- all this time unnoticed, unobserved in the rush of this world.

All this time! That the chocolate Lab and the yellow Lab would be of the same radiance, that the beast of the dark would see his same eyes stripped of corruption and haze in the solar image standing before him -- from whose mind could such a thought be conjured? In what analogy could this relation be described? For a mirror implies sameness, a vessel denies autonomy, but the yellow Lab is more than such things. The yellow Lab is of the same stars as the chocolate, but hers shine ever the more brighter, more determined.

I have seen the growth and decay of empires before me; already I have died. But the yellow Lab will live forever. Because I have gazed upon the yellow Lab, I have known that there is good in this world; I have been reborn in fire, a new purpose ignited in every breath I take! Woe to those whose minds I have occupied -- she is the star in the night!

She is the yellow Lab, and hers is the treasure of this universe.
